DEGREE OF HONOR MANAGEMENT TEAM From left Rose Marie Tetzlaff Director of Operations Technology Erica Oberg CFO Jack Kerbeshian Actuarial Director Michelle Alberg Community Service Sales Manager Lisa Flanary CEO and Kristin Evenson Director of Marketing Strategy Communications. I believe this new year of 2016 has great things in store for Degree of Honor in large part because of what were learning from you our members. The perspective youre sharing with us is invaluable as we plan for the future in a way that leverages both the present and our strong heritage. Were learning much from you about your service club activities and about your experience as caregivers and its helping us identify ways to better support the very other-centered activities that are and always have been at the heart of Degree of Honor. As I noted in this space last fall millions of Americans provide unpaid care to their loved ones a task that is often uniquely challenging and rewarding. That resonates with what weve heard from our Degree of Honor members who serve as caregivers along with what weve learned from our research. I admire caregivers for their selfless nature. They typically have a lot on their plates providing care working outside the home and navigating emotional challenges. And they often struggle with a common question What happens to the person I provide care for if something happens to me That concern also comes through loud and clear in both our research and what our caregiving members shared with us. In the last issue of Honor we published a survey asking you to share your experiences needs and ideas related to caregiving. We so greatly appreciate the responses perspective and the anecdotes you shared. You can read about some of our communitys experiences in The Caregivers Life which begins on page 6. And on page 3 you can view an infographic that illustrates key insights and themes that emerged from the survey. As a fraternal organization Degree of Honor is uniquely equipped to support the crucial work of caregivers both through our financial services and our fraternal service offerings. Look for more information on this in the months ahead. Finally Id love to hear from you feel free to share your perspectives on caregiving ideas for the magazine or anything else related to Degree of Honor.
